ADVICE FROM A.A. PATROL TO-DAY’S DISTRICT REPORT For the information of motorists intending to travel from Gisborne, the following report on the condition of the highways was provided this morning by the Automobile Association (Auckland): — Gisborne-Wairoa, via Tiniroto.— Surface good; exercise care past reconstruction works at Waerenga-o-kuri; beware sections of loose metal. Wairoa-Waikaremoana. —Reasonable order, stretches under reconstruction: loose metal between Frasertown and Lake House. Gisborne-Opotiki, via Cape Runaway. —Gisborne to Waihau Bay, good order, watercourses good; Waihau Bay to Te Kaha, Raukokore River crossing easily fordable, but care necessary on the rough two-mile apprbach road, Waihau Bay side. Bullock team available at Kereu River, 60 miles from Opotiki; this service free of charge between 8 a.m. and 6 pan. daily. Gisborne-Opotiki, via Waioeka.— Good order, all streams low. Gisborne-Opotiki, via Motu.—Surface fair, narrow and winding, suggest experienced drivers only use route. Gisborne-Napier, via Morere. —Gisborne to Nuhaka, surface good; Nuhaka to Wairoa, fiat sections corrugated: Wairoa to Napier, corrugated and potholed badly in sections.
