INFANTILE PARALYSIS
RECURRENCE IN OTAGO 7 CASES SINCE OCTOBER TWO SCHOOLS CLOSED (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Two very mild cases of infantile paralysis have resulted in the inlant department, of the George Streci. School being closed for a fortnight The children affected belong to the same family. One attends the infant classes but the other is not of school age. „ , , The Owaka District High School also has been closed on account of a girl aged 13 having contracted definite paralysis. Dr. McKibbon 'stated last night that the girl was making very* good progress. From the beginning of October until the present time, there had beer, a total of seven mild cases over the whole district of Otago and Southland, Dr. McKibbon said. Owaka was an area not touched during the epidemic, but it was unlikely that anything of a serious nature would develop as close observation was being kept on all districts.
