TWENTY SENATE SEATS

SUPPORTERS OF MR LYONS MAJORITY AT CANBERRA LABOUR PARTY STRONGER (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Rccd. Nov. 12, 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 12. It now appears certain that" the Labour Party has won 10 of the 19 vacancies in the Federal Senate. Senator G. Brown has been reelected for Queensland and tbe reelection of his two colleagues is considered beyond doubt. The Government has won the third South Australian vacancy, Mr. K. Wilson being elected. With the 17 senators who did not retire, the Government will have a following of 20 in the new Senate. On the completion of the count in New South Wales, the fourth Labour candidate. Mr. W. Ashley, has been declared elected. Labour also won the two remaining vacancies in Western Australia, Messrs. J. Fraser and R. Clothier being elected. Senators Pearce and Lynch, the latter being formerly the president of the Senate, have been defeated.
