DAIRY FARM WAGES
FIXATION FOR SEASON RATES IN DOMINION {Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The revised scale of the minimum rate of wages payable to agricultural workers employed on dairy farms, to operate as from November 1, 1937, until July 31, 1938, was issued by Ordcr-in-Council in the Gazette tonight. The 1937 agricultural workers’ wage fixation order is in accordance with the provision made in the Agricultural Workers’ Act passed last year .whereby the scale of wages may be varied, having regard to the guaranteed price for dairy produce. The new weekly rates are:— Workers under 17 years, 18s Cd. Seventeen years but under 18 years, 245. Eighteen but under 19 years, 295. Nineteen but under 20 years, 34s lid. Twenty but under 21 years, 39s Cd. Twenty-one years and upwards, 455.
