IL DUCE’S BOAST
FASCIST STRENGTH REBIRTH OF. EMPIRE ALIGNMENT WITH NAZIS CLAIM TO COLONIES BERLIN PRESS ECHOES (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Oct. 29. 11.30 a.m.) ROME, Oct. 28. “The watchword for the sixteenth Fascist year will be peace,” said Signor Mussolini, addressing 200,000 people in the Mussolini forum to-day. He added: “The word peace has been abused by reactionary so-called democracies, but it has a profound human meaning as used by us who have fought and are ready to fight again. Fifteen years hhve culminated in' the rebirth of the' empire without taking a single metre from other empires.
“The absurd clauses of- the peace treaties must be revised and great people like the Germans given their right place in the world. On the eve of closer solidarity between Italy and Germany regimes developing bolshevism must be eliminated.”
II Duce sneered at the critics oi the Italian capital levy which, he said was imposed by the State and not under the orders of capital.
“Raise aloft the standards. It will be extremely dangerous for anyone to cross swords with this new powerful nation,” declared Signor Mussolini. A Berlin message says that the German press has taken up Signor Mussolini’s advocacy for the return of German colonies, and declares that England must make reparation.
