CAPTAIN OLPHERT ILL
NOTABLE SERVICE IN N-AVV It is reported that Captain Wybrants Olphert, Wellington, is dangerously ill following an operation. Captain Olphert, who was bern in England, and who won both the' Distinguished Service Order and bar and the Distinguished Serviee Cross during the war, was for years marine superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company. He gained part of his education in H.M.S. Worcester, the training ship. He was a member of the Royal Naval Reserve, and from October, 1914, served with the British naval forces, commanding the Scadana, the Pioneer 11, and Q ship No. 15. He was taken prisoner in, June* 1917. He has been cbmmarider of the Wellington Division of the Royal Naval Reserve.
