NEW WELLINGTON HOTEL

LAST WORD IN MODERNITY COMPLETE APPOINTMENTS On Monday morning the new Hotel Waterloo, Wellington, opposite the Wellington railway station, opened its doors tor the first time to the public. The last word in modernity and comfort, the interior of this hotel proved every bit as impressive as its appearance from the street. Within an hour of the opening of the doors the first guest had signed in; the license of the old Central Hotel was transferred at noon. In approving the application for a transfer of license, made by Mr. G. G. G. Watson, from the Central Hotel to the Hotel Waterloo (Mr. G. H. Bassant), Mr. Mosley, chairman of the Licensing Committee, said: “The committee has taken the opportunity of visiting the Hotel Waterloo and inspecting the whole premises; not only the guests’ part, but those parts allotted to employees. The committee is well satisfied that the employees are catered for in every reasonable way. The guests, too, are provided for excellently. “The kitchen and the cooking arrangements are the most complete it is possible to have. I have inspected a lot of hotels throughout New Zealand, but never have I seen such complete lounges, writing rooms, and bedrooms. They are complete to the veriest detail.”
