The attendance was 7750. The track was fast. The totalisator handled £29,704 10s computed with £25,745 on the corresponding day of last year, an increase of £4019 10s. The investments for the two days totalled £72,412 against £00,370 last year, an increase of £12,030. Results were: — Normanby Handicap, of £300; one mile. —1 Besiege, 9.7 (C. G. Manukau Hurdle Race, of £400; two miles. —2 High Quality, 10.0 (C. Walters), 1; 5 Valpai, 10.7 (J. Day), 2; 7 Prince of Orange, 9.2 (R. Ferguson), 3. Also started: 1 Lord Val 11.2, 4 Emancipation 9.12, 3 Lady England 9.0, 8 Count Rousillion 9.0 (fell). Three lengths; three lengths. Time, 3.44. Lord Val fell at the last fence injuring his shoulder, and was destroyed. His jockey, F. E. Baker, suffered slight concussion.

Epsom Handicap, of £400; six furlongs.—l Gallio, 8.13 (C. G. Goulsbro), 1; 2 Anion, 7.9 (N. Wiggins), 2; 3 Trilliarch, 7.11 (R. E. Horne), 3. Also started: 4 Whirling 8.10, 9 Tray Bit 8.5, 5 Prince Acre 8.0, 7 Royal Dance 7.11, 8 Tosh 7.11 car. 7.12, 6 Bachelor King 7.0 car. 7.4. A neck; a length. Time, 1.12 2-5. Anion began smartly, but was quickly joined by Gallio and they led across the top from Tosh, Bachelor King, Prince Acre, and Royal Dance, with Trilliarch and Whirling in the rear. Gallio and Anion were the first into the straight from Prince Acre, Bachelor King, and Tosh. Gallio went on well and won by a neck from Anion, Trilliarch finishing on well to be third. Bachelor King was fourth.

A neck; half a length. Time, 2.5. Valamito and Day Wind were prominent early from' Taitoru, Kiltowyn, Royal Appellant, Knight of Australia, Mungatoon, and Scotland. Continuing in the lead to the straight, Valamito and Day Wind showed the way to Kiltowyn, Taitoru, Entail, Knight of Australia, and Royal Appellant. Valamito looked like the winner a furlong from home, but Knight of Australia secured a run on the rails and got up to win by a neck from Valamito. Kiltowyn was half a length away third. Royal Appellant was fourth, followed by Boomerang, Scotland, Mazir, and Mungatoon.
