BATHED, THEN PRAYED
SRRVICB ON IiKAOH LONDON, July 19. The Rev. Donald Manners, Vicar of Felpham, near Bognor Regis, to-day refused to withdraw his decision to hold Sunday services on Felpham Beach. The police had alleged that the foreshore was private property, and that a permit was necessary. He held a service on the beach, and many of the congregation, in bathing dress, shorts, or beach costumes, prayed. . The service was the first of a series to which holiday-maKers are invited.
