ENDING OF DEADLOCK
NEWCASTLE MINERS XEG OTIATI ONS P ENDING WAGES AND CONDITIONS (Elec, Tel, Copyright—United Press Assn.) (.Reed. Aug. 9,2 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 9. The deadlock which lias held the Broken Hill Proprietary collieries in the Newcastle district idle for more than a week has ended. Members of the Miners' Federation employed at the three pits, John Darling, Burwood, and Lambton B, have decided to give the guarantee recommended by the miners' central council that there would be no more stay-in strikes at their mines pending the completion ot negotiations between the Miners' Federation and the NeW South Wales coalowners on the subject of wages and conditions.
