{licrald CoTHWpoiulont.) The rainfall for July recorded at Tikitiki was ll.nin. Rain fell on 12 days, the maximum being 2.50 m. on July 14. Miss C. Gudgeon is the guest of Mrs. I B Broadhurst, Gisborne.—Messrs. Pine Tibbie, Thome Tibbie and Rahi Tibbie have returned from a visit to Gisborne—Master Stephen Wills is pending his vacation with his parents, Mr, and Mrs, R. J. Wills. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, and party were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. Hyland at a delicious luncheon on Thursday. The dining-room of the hotel presented a striking picture with bowls of spring flowers. The party viewed the country at its best on a day of glorious sunshine. In thanking Mr. and Mrs. M;'Hyland for their hospitality, Mr. Parry hoped ho would again have the opportunity of visiting the district. Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P., associated himself with the Minister's remarks. Mr. Parry and party also visited the Tawhiwhirangi Memorial Hall and St. Mary's Church. The Minister remarked on the exquisite carving and reed work and considered it some of the most beautiful work he had seer.
