FALL INTO WATER HOLE

BOY RESCUED IN TIME Through falling into a gum hole filled with water Jimmy, the two-year-old son of Mr. Mac Johnston, a Maori working for the Public Works Department at Lake Ohia, nearly lost his life. The little boy was playing with other young children close to camp when he fell into the hole. The cries of the other children attracted the mother, who found the boy floating on the water. He was immediately pulled out in an unconscious condition. Mr. H. W. Young, the local schoolmaster, on being informed, notified Dr. John Rule, of Kaitaia, and himself went to the camp, giving the child first-aid treatment. When the doctor arrived the boy was out of danger.
