SOCIAL EVENING
J. TE McKENZTE’S STAFF An enjoyable social was held on Thursday evening by the staff of Messrs. J. R. McKenzie, Limited, in the Selvyn Hall. Games and dancing occupied the attention of the guests and items were contributed to the programme by Misses Betteridge, Wade and Campbell, and Master Tommy Martin. A novelty request item by Messrs. P. O’Donoghue and J. McMurray caused much amusement. Mr. Wreyford Wade capably assisted at the piano. A delicious savoury supper served by members of the committee and the singing of “Auld Lhng Syne” and the National Anthem brought a most enjoyable evening to a close. Those present included Mr. and Mrs A. B. Curtayne, Mrs. Betteridge; Misses H. Svenson (Melbourne), M. Betteridge, J. Shorter, M. Most, L. Schutz, A, Hudson, D. Golding, M. Hutchison, G. Wade, S. Bilham, D. Cains, I. Stevens, E. Campbell, and M. Pilcher; Messrs. P. H. McCawe, G. Henderson, G. Foote, D. Gavin, P. O’Donoghue, J. McMurray, B. and S. Stacey, P. McMahon, H. McCalluin, A. McAneney, B. Kairns, P. Clarke, J. Hutchison, E. Phillips, A. Papworth, and D. Thompson.
