It is now revealed that two deaths from infantile paralysis have occurred in Melbourne, one on Thursday and one a fortnight ago, when the outbreak was first reported. The Ormond State School, where the infantile paralysis originated, and other schools in the affected area have now been closed. Three more respirators have been ordered urgently for the Children’s Hospital to cope with possible requirements. 'Although it is thought that the outbreak is under control, another mild case was reported to-day in the same area.
