JURY DIES
TRIAL BEFORE 11 MEN SYDNEY, June 25. A member of a jury empanelled in a trial on a conspiracy charge, which is proceeding in Quarter Sessions, died suddenly early yesterday morning. He was Mr. Percy Newton Ryan, produce broker, of Balgowlah. The case proceeded yesterday with 11 jurymen. Judge Barton, who is presiding at ■the * trial, said that it was with the greatest regret that he had to announce the death of one of the jurymen since the court rose on the previous day.. He understood that the parties in the case were prepared to take advantage of the Jury Act, which allowed the case to proceed with 11 jurymen. After the consent by the parties had teen obtained in writing, His Honour adjourned the court for a quarter of an hour out of respect for the late juryman.
