10-MILE HARRIER RACE
CONTEST IN WELLINGTON (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. There was a record, entry of 143 runners in the 10-mile harrier race for the Vosseler Shield at Wellington on Saturday. The runners represented eight clubs. The placings were: Scottish, 108 points, 1; Brooklyn, 323 points, 2; University, 408 points, 3; Hutt and Presbyterian, 501 points, 4; Methodist, 508 points. 6: Olympic, 557 points, 7: Wellington, 584 points, 8. The times of the first four were:—'J. Riddington (Scottish), 43min. 17 sec.; G. Prosser (Brooklyn), 54min. 40sec.; Pedersen (Brooklyn), 55min. 53sec.; Stevens (Scottish), 54min. 55 sec.
