MAORI WAR VETERAN
SERGT. S. WILSON DEAD TE KOOTI DAYS RECALLED (Per Press Association.) WHAKATANE .this day. One of the few remaining Maori War veterans, Sergeant S, McD. Wilson, formerly of the First Waikato Regiment and Armed Constabulary, died at his residence. Whakatane, last evening. He was aged 89 years. He leaves a widow, a son by an earlier marriage, and a brother, Mr. F. H. Wilson, of Birkenhead, Auckland. The deceased served in the Waikato in 1863 when 15 years of age, at Gate
