TOUR BY VON LUCKNER

BAN NOT FAVOURED VIEW OF SEAM EX’S FXIOX (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The question of Count Felix von Luckner coming to New Zealand was discussed at the monthly meeting of seamen, and the following resolution was carried: "The Federated Seamen's Union understands that Count von Luckner is visiting this country and that he may possibly be a propagandist on behalf of the German Government. He is well known on account of his exploits as a sea raider during the last Imperialist war, and particularly for the skilful manner in which he made his escape from the New Zealand military authorities. “While the Federated Seamen's Union has no sympathy with the agents of Germany or any other Imperialist Power, it sees no reason why Count von Luckner should be singled out, and considers that to advocate preventing his landing in New Zealand would be a foolish and reactionary step, since no such hindrance has been placed in the way of similar representatives of other Imperialist Powers. "The Federated Seamen’s Union is, however, emphatically of the opinion that no special facilities should be given him. He should not be invited to express views, and lor any accommodation, transport and other services he may require he should pay the same rates as any other tourists.
