BARQUENTINE’S CRUISE
CAP PILAR SIGHTED DUE AT AUCKLAND TO-DAY '" ’ (Per Press Jtssociation.) AUCKLAND, last night. The first report of the 300-ton barquentine Cap Pilar since she left Sydney on June 28 for Auckland, reached here his afternoon by the Union Company’s motor-ship Kauri. The Kauri, en route from New Plymouth to Auckland, sighted the Cap Pilar at midnight on Saturday 13 miles abeam of Stephenson Island, off Whangaroa. The Cap Pilar Morsesignalled a request to the Kauri to report her on arrival. The weather at the time was very light, with a breeze from the south-south-west, and the barquentine was making slow progress. As she was about 92 miles from Auckland when, sighted, she is expected to arrive here In the early hours of to-morrow morning.
