JOY-RIDING BY AIR

ROUND TRIP OF COAST FLIGHT FOR WEEK-END Weather conditions lately not having been favourable for East Coast Airways' week-end sight-seeing flights over the Waikaremoana route, it has been decided to alter the route tomorrow morning and make the iourney up the Coast to Tokomaru Bay and back via the Waimata Valley. The alteration was made earlier in Hie week when the officials were doubtful regarding the visibility over the lake this week-end, and not being able to foretell that the conditions would be splendid to-day with good prospects also for to-morrow. The opening of the new route along the Coast will give residents of Gisborne and the Coast an opportunity of viewing the expanse of country to the north of Gisborne from a new angle. Not only will they see the coastal portion of Poverty Bay, but with good visibility a large section of the Bay of Plenty and Rotorua districts should be brought within their range of vision, with the islands of the Bay of Plenty a pleasing feature. To-morrow afternoon the company will continue the short joy-flights and other special trips, which already have become popular with the public, notwithstanding the overcast conditions.
