FACTIONS AT VARIANCE

AIMS OF C. 1.0. LEADER MARITIME WORKERS WASHINGTON, July 7. Mr. John L. Lewis, president of the Committee for Industrial Organisation, has appointed a committee, including Mr. Tom Bridges, to conduct a nationwide campaign to bring 300,000 maritime workers in all categories into the Committee for Industrial Organisation.

Mr. Lewis evaded journalists on the question whether Mr. Bridges would be named as director of the Committee for Industrial Organisation on the West Coast.

Mr Ryan, president of the Longshoremen's Association, expressed his defiance. He said that the affiliates of the American Federation of Labour were prepared to resist the incursions of the C. 1.0. He referred to Mr. Bridges as a Communist.
