DEATH OF SOLDIER
SIX ALEXANDER WILSON SERVICE IN ZULU WAR f LONDON, July 7. The death has occurred of MajorGeneral Sir Alexander Wilson. He was 79 years of age. Major-General Wilson was born in 1858 and served in the Zulu War and the South African war, where he was mentioned in dispatches and received the C.B. He saw service in 1914-16, being knighted in 1916 and given the Order of the Nile, Second Class. From 1916 to 1920 he was Governor of Jersey. He was colonel of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was married, with one son.
MRS. PERCY FENDER LONDON, July 7. Ruth Marion, wife of the cricketer Percy Fender, is dead.
