MOTOR CAR CAPSIZES

MAN AND WIFE INJURED Mr. and Mrs. H. Toogood, Havelock North, were injured when their car capsized after hitting a bank about six miles on the Taupo side of Te Pohue, on the main Napier-Taupo road, shortly before midday yesterday. The car rolled over twice before coming to rest. It is understood lhat Mr. Toogood's injuries aire extensive, and Mrs. Toogood received an injured back. Their son-in-law, who was also in the car, escaped injury.

The plight of the injured was communicated to the Te Pohue Post Office, where the postmaster, Mr. P. Howell, telephoned to Napier for assistance. A doctor left immediately with an ambulance. The district nurse, travelling toward Napier, however, picked up Mr. and Mrs. Toogood and took them on to meet the ambulance. They were taken to a private hospital. Mr. Toogood's condition was reported to be serious.
