"WAR UNLIKELY"
LABOUR LEADER'S VIEW WARSAW, July 1. At the opening session of the Congress of the International Federation of Trade Unions, the general secretary of the Trade Union Congress of Britain, Sir Walter Citrine, said that rearmament, by the nations would eventually lead to a slump. The Fascist countries alone, he declared, menaced peace, but war was not likely at present, owing to the strength of the democracies. He advocated a 40-hour week and paid holidays.
