The friction spindle has ball bearings above and below the cone. This is an exclusive LISTER feature. The Plants are fitted with the “tumbling tommy” type of “in and out” gear, ensuring against the starting of motor under full load, and eliminating complicated switch gear. LISTER ELECTRIC PLANTS are equipped with PULL Size (Min Discs) Grinders—either single or double-ended. In the horizontal plants the grinder is driven from the nearest stand through a counter-shaft if a single-ended grinder is used. (A “heavy duty” motor is used for this stand.)
