CUSTOMS REVENUE UP
FIGURES FOR SIX MONTHS Increase in gisborne BIG' -SALES TAX INCREASE Customs revenue, beer excise payments and sales tax collections in Gisborne for the six months ended yesterday show an increase of nearly £7OOO over the corresponding figures of last year. The increase in sales tax returns represents nearly 40 per cent at £10,048 17s 3d for the period, the total increase for June being nearly 30 per cent. The figures are summarised in the following table:—
