FRUIT FROM AUCKLAND
SHIPMENTS OVERSEAS
INCREASE FOR SEASON
(Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. With the arrival of the last consignments of fruit at the grading stores in Auckland, an increase of about 10,000 cases-of apples and pears has been recorded in the export output of the Auckland province this season in comparison with the figures of last year. The bulk of the produce, which is reported to be of good uniform quality. ( ha* already been shipped to the United .. Kingdom. Although the crop of apples was showing heavy earlier in the season, the yield did not eoine up to expectations and the fruit failed to size up as well os was anticipated. However, normal crops were picked, 63,000 cases of apples ana between 4000 nnd 5000 cases of pears being forwarded to Auckland for shipment. While those totals show an advance of approximately 10,000 on the previous season's export, they fall considerably short of the record of 180.000 ' cases i Which were dispatched in 1932,
