DOMINION SERVICE URGED

OPENING OF CON FERENCI

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day

The first national blood translusion conference in New Zealand assembled today, Dr. G. Gordon Kemp, the chairman of tho Wellington blood transfusion, service, presiding. The conference was opened by the acting-Prime Minister, the lion. P. Fraser, who cmJiasised the importance of the movement to the community. Dr. M. 11. Watt, the Director-General of Health, in his address, said it, was desirable that, the service should he put on a sound footing and that a Dominion organisation be devised which would meet the needs of the community. The department appreciated the work done in tho past.
