DAIRY FACTORIES
DISPUTE CONSIDERED
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON*, this day
The hours of work formed the basis of a long discussion in the Conciliation Council in the dairy factories’ dispute to-day, it being agreed that a settlement of the hours question was an essential preliminary to the adjustment of other questions, such as wages. Tentative proposals were put forward and the conference adjourned until this .afternoon so that the matter might be expedited. The employees’ advocate, Mr. .T. Koberts, said that his side did not want to do anything to hamper the industry, but they did want a fair deal.
