POVERTY BAY RUGBY UNION’S WEEKLY MEETING ARRANT:riULXTS rx TRAIN Arrangements fur the lirsl representative fixtures of the season wore started hv the management committee of Hie Poverty Ray Rugby Union at its meeting held last, evening. Mr. fl. 11. Scents was in the chair, and others present were Messrs. (L .1. Jennc. P. (’. Edmondson. IS’. Tasker. ,1. Iv. Mercer, K. F. .Tones. I). McLeod, and the secretary. Mr. W. S. McKee. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. 0. S. Burl, T. French. E. T. I’rosnaiian. V. S. Caullon. and T. Dennis.

Confirmation of the Wairarapa-I’nvoijy Bay Rugby match on Saturday, .lime 12, wos made by the secretary of the Wairarapa union, Mr. E. McKenzie, who stated in his letter that there would lie about 20 players making the trip. The letter was received. Advice was received from the Hawke’s Bay union that Hip Poverty BavII aw Ice’s Bay fixture, to he played on July 1. would he contested in Hastings.

South Island match and trial matches had been extended to June 15. —ln view of this it. was decided, on the motion of Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. McLeod, that, the New Zealand union should he asked to send selectors to Gisborne to view the WnirarapaPoverly Bay match on June 12. Mr. Tasker'said'there were several good men in the district and the nominated players might Iqtve a better chance ol being included in the trial matches if they had the opportunity of letting the selectors see them in a fixture. Messrs. Scents, Jeune and Mercer were appointed to the entertainment commit, tee to make arrangements for tlm Wairoa and Wairarapa fixtures. The charges for the. representative matches will he the same as for last season: Gentlemen, Is 6d; ladies, Is; cars, Is; stand, gentlemen fld. ladies 6d. Il was decided to leave the mailer of securing the loan of jerseys .for the colts team from the Old Boys club in the hands of Mr. Mercer.
