MANCHU SOLDIERS
DESERTING INTO RUSSIA MOSCOW, April 10. Whole detachments of Mnnehu.Tapanese troops are deserting across the Soviet border becauso of conditions behind their own lines, Jzvostia, the Government newspaper, said Inst night. Deserters wore quoted as saying that wholesale desertions wore prevented only by reports that Soviet border guards would shoot at first sight. One officer said that the condition of the men was so bad that all would desert if they could.
