To-day's North Island Report

Overcast conditions were reported this morning at Auckland and Fast Cape, hut bine skies prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Lighl northerly breezes weie reported at Wellington and light to moderate sonth-u eslciiies further north. The barometer showed little movement. Last Night's Forecast Pressure is high from central Australia across the north Tasinan Sea to northern New Zealand, and also to the eastward, while a series of shallow westerly depressions extend from southern Australia across the.south Tasinan. The forecast is for winds, variable in the northern half of the North Island, elsewhere moderate to .strong and rather .squally north-westerlies reaching gale lone 'in some exposed positions, but hacking, in [daces, temporarily to west or south-west. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rather rough to rough in t.hc Cool; and Fovcau.s Strait areas and rather rough, lit times, on the West const of the South Island, elsewhere, slight, to moderate.
