Mr. and Mrs. Adam Nichol, of Waikoka Valley, Core, who have been making ii tour of the North Island, are paying a short visit to Cisbonie.
The improvement of about .'-'.) chains of the New Plymouth-Auckland main highway at Pa Hill, tJrenui, wiU be started by the Public Works Department next week. Authority has been received for the work, which will occupy from to 21 men for somo months, and will enable the men given notice of dismissal last week to continue, in the department's employ. The nature of the hill will not permit of complete straightening, but the alignment of the curves is to bo improved, making for greater safety. The road'will .subsequently lie latuminised.
