I want to get the sheep and cattle off the highways Where it can be done without placing an insufferable burden upon the people." Tin* deputation comprised Messrs. Law-son Field and W. h. Buf ledge, who placed the matter before the Minister from a different angle from that earlier in the, day.

Mr. Field said that a special survey aeroplane was in Gisborne at present, and was mapping a number of large station holdings. The cost would be £^."». The Minister said he had seen the results of a lot of aerial surveys, and they were very reliable. They could do in a few hours what would take months under the old system.

Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P., thanked the Minister for his offer to find halt the cost, and said he would try and make arrangements to accompany the aeroplane on its survey flight.
