TRANSPORT SERVICES
CO-ORDINATION PLANS TOLAGA HARBOR REQUEST ' (Herald Special Reporter.) TOLAGA BAY, this day. Co-ordination of transport, land, sea and air, would take time to effect, according to the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Seniple, when replying to a deputation from the Tolaga Bay Harbour Board to-day, but it would be accomplished, as .so.on .as possible; This reply was given after the Uawa County chairman, Mr. J. McNeil, on behalf of the board's chairman, said that in addition to heavy county rates the ratepayers had the burden of a heayy harbour rate. The Minister could assist in increasing the harbour revenue by seeing that more goods were taken over the wharf instead of over the roads. Some goods were brought from Auckland to Tolaga Bay and as far as Ruatoria by road. ' "We are attempting to co-ordinate road, rail and boat services," Mr. Semple said. "It will take time to do it. but we are trying to get road, rail and sea services, and eventually we will have commercial air services, and the sensible way is to co-ordinate those services so that they will dovetail in with each other instead of being in competition, but it will take a little time to make the co-ordination."
