A motion expressing the loyalty of its members to the Throne, and to 'lhcir Majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, was recorded by the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board at to-day’s meeting, on the suggestion of the chairman. Mr. F. It. Ball.

Promotion Act, 1956, he made a false statement to the effect that his total earnings for the eight-week period ending January 23, 1937, were £5 10s, whereas in fact his total earnings for period were £ls 8s 6d. McWhirter said that accused was a single man and was entitled to sustenance, and the amount of the grant was regulated by the amount of work done and wages received. Kohere had received £4 11s 6d in excess of what lie had deserved, but on the day of the declaration he said he had not collected the full amount due to him although he knew it was available.
