I ESLTE Howard announced recently 1-1 that he will alternate between the Hollywood studios and the London stage during the next few years. Howard’s current picture contract calls for six more pictures, and, while this commitment runs to ' expiration, lie plans to do three or four plays in succession iijL “London. Howard, who recently played “Ilamlet” in New York, has not appeared behind tho footlights in London since he was seen there in the short-lived “This Side Idolatry” in 1933.
URIC Von Stroheim, who recently' “ left Hollywood “forever,” wrote an article for a Paris journal regarding his reasons lor leaving the picture centre in which he had acted, directed, written, and produced for more than 15 years. Von Stroheim stated that his methods of producing and directing were undoubttuiy “too expensive, even for Hollywood.”
