WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
HINETAPORA MEETING There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Jlinelapora Women’s Institute, hold at Takamore. on Thursday, May 20. Two minutes’ silence was observed out of respect for one of the institute member’s father, who had passed away recently. There were good entries for the competitions, which resulted Tea cosy.— nlrs. 11. Ileweti, lj Mrs. If. Toraunn, 2; Mrs. 11. 'Smith, 3. Maori art. —Seniors, four cornered kit: Mrs. E. Awalere, 1; Mrs.. Mil nor, 2. Juniors: Mesdames Whaipooti and K. Whangapirita, lie, 1 ; Mrs. M. Tuhne, 3. Homemade bread. —Mrs. W. Beach, ]; Mrs. ,1. S. Grace, 2; Mnsdamcs W. Tawaho and Milner, tie, 3. It was resolved to forward a donation towards the King George V memorial fund. ! j Mrs. Thomas Grace demonstrated Hie making of a four-cornered kit. During afternoon ten, which was served by Mesdames Whaipooti, .1. S. Grace and Tuhekc, the; birthday cakes from the sister institutes were handed" uround, being greatly appreciated by everyone. The. meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
