The conference has been convened bj Mr. E. M. Bates, of the Department ol Agriculture in Gisborne, who has been a "moving-spirit- in.the Young Farmers 01u&"*'iltg:wment since taking up residence" in this district, and is in close touch with the various clubs in Wairoa, Nuhaka.. Gisborne, Waikolvu. Tolaga P.av and Iluatoria, having visited these clubs' headquarters frequently, and assisted their executives from time- to 'time.
Tho jury room at the Magistrate's Court buildings has been placed at tho disposal of the conference, for which invitations have been issued to several farmers of the older generation in Poverty Bay.
