CITIZENS' CO-OPERATION
MEMORIAL TO LATE KING 30,000 CLUB APPEAL ' In connection with the street sale of flags in aid of the King George V. memorial fund, which the Gisl>orne Thirty-Thousand Club has undertaken at the request of the Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., it is explained that the flags for sale are being provided by the Government and are due to arrive in Gisborne to-night. A special function will be held on Thursday, June 3, on the lawn between the Kaili bridge and the returned soldiers' office, when the design arranged will be covered with the flags purchased by the public of the Gisborne district. Opportunity will be afforded purchasers to plant their flags iu the plot any time between daylight and dark on June 3.
Details of the ceremony are being arranged similar to the order in which it is being held all over New Zealand. The lecoration of the ground will accord with that of Coronation Day.
The Thirty-Thousand Club invites all citizens to heartily co-operate in making June 3 a day to be remembered, more especially as the Coronation Day celebrations were unfortunately' cancelled owing to the infantile paralysis epidemic. A request is made /> car owners that all cars will bear a suitable flag on both Friday of this week and Thursday of next week as an act of remembrance to our late Kingi George V.
