N.G., presiding over a crowded attendance. An apology was received for the absence of the group officer, P.ro. F. T. Robinson. .Motions of sympathy with the relatives of the late Pro. R. Cameron and the late Pro. T. 11. White, P.D.G.M, secretary of the Howirk Lodge, wore passed. Lodge honours and a very warm welcome were extended to visitors from Woodvillc, Napier, Blenheim, and Cromwell. ... Five members wove initiated. i lie conductors were Bro. \\. M. Mi cl lie? P.G., and Sister R. W. Wallen, 'the music was played by Pro. .T, A. Vagg, P.G, Bro. F. L. Barker. P.G., proposed the lodge honours. The programme for the coming year was adopted. Members who attended the social function arranged by Court William Gladstone of the Foresters' Order reported on the enjoyable evenng, and the meeting decided to send a letter of thanks and to invite the Foresters to join with the Oddfellows at an evenng on June 21. The election of officers resulted:N.G.. Bro. T. A. Permit; 1.P.N.G., Pro. T. J. I)ulisten; V.G., Pro. ('. H. Smythe; E.S., Sister G. Cousins. The last post was filled after a second ballot. The scrutineers were Bros. Roll) well and Mieliio, P.G.s.

It was decided to ask the lodge trus tees to arrange for stronger lighting in the main ball, particularly over the secretary’s table. The gas heaters were brought out last night for the first lime this season, and were much appreciated. Several candidates were nominated for membership, and with others in waiting will come forward for initiation next lodge night. It was resolved that suitable regalia should be obtained for the retiring I.P.N.G. for presentation at that meeting.

The secretary, Bro. C. IT. Ambridge, reported that sick pay totalled £SO for the fortnight, and other accounts .£250, iliis being the. largest, total lor some time.

Bro. 11. J. Clayton. P.G., furnished a report regarding sick members, of whom there was a large number on the list. The serving of refreshments brought a very pleasant meeting to a close.
