DEMAND FOR EARLY LAMBS OPENING OF KILLING SEASON A decision that one of the district freezing works should lie asked to open early each year to receive early lambs, the works to take the earlier opening in turn, was reached at a conference of the North Canterbury district- of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union.
It was stated that many farmers had anticipated that the works would open earlier next season, and had made airangements lor it. One delegate said that the early lambs arriving on the i.ondou market would catch the higher prices now going to the North Island at the opening of the season.
