DIETARY STUDY
DOMINION COMPETITION PRIZE-WINNERS NAMED The dietary study competition, inaugurated by the School of Home Science at the University of Otago last October, in order to gain information regarding the diet of New Zealand people, has been judged, and the prizewinners are as follows
First prize, £3 3s, Mrs. Stella Lineker, 139 -Grafton road Roseneatli, Wellington, E. 1. Second prize, £2 2s, Mrs. 'D. L. Davies, 20 Massey avenue, Dunedin North.
Ten prizes of 10s 6d eaeli : Mrs. T. W. Lowe, R.M.D., Apatata, via Katikati; Mrs. A. V. Nelson, Deep Creek, Canvastown, Marlborough; Mrs. T. L. Farr, 33 Laing’s road, Lower Ilutt; Mrs. E. Harris, Marton road extension, Franklon, Waikato; Mrs. E. McNaughton, Post Office, Tuuranga; Mrs. Ada Gurry, Rawene, Hokianga, North Auckland; Mrs. T. Parry, Main road, Upper Ilutt, Wellington; Mrs. A. Wells, Mapua, R.M.D., Upper Mouterc, Nelson; Mrs. O. Coppell, 68 Rongojiai street, Palmerston North; Mrs. IC. Riuldenkhui, To Waka, To Poliue, Hawke’s Bay. The iinklges tlmnk the 53 competitors who entered for the competition. They were disappointed, however, not to receive more support for this competition, which was undertaken in order to obtain more information as to food consumed by New Zealand people. Many competitors have asked if they may have a report on their diet, and one will be supplied to all who ask for it. In answer to various inquiries, it is stated that the home science faculty hopes to lie able to publish a report based on both investigations in 11-38, but there remains still much work to be done on the material from the first competition.
