COST OF ELECTRICITY" A report on llio cost of heating schools by electricity was submitted to the Central Waikato Electric Power Board, Hamilton, by t lie engineer-managcr, Mr. J. 11. Kills. Taking the Tc Kowhai School, which ban three rooms, us a representative example of the schools ol the district, Mr. Ellis said the installation of electric heaters would cost £69 ilnd the running costs £57 for 14 weeks of the year. The installation of Hood heaters "would cost £llO, the running cost of which woidd be .£23 for 14 weeks. Mr. Ellis said the school was at present heated with coke stoves, the cost of fuel being £4 per annum. "Far too dear.'' said n member, when commenting on the costs of an electric system. it was decided to lake no action.
