REUNION ARRANOEMENTS
A special meeting of the executive ol lie Gisborne branch of the South Afrieiin War Veterans' Association was held on Saturday evening to linalise arrangements for the reunion ami church parade for Saturday and Sunday next. 1). was reported by the sub-committee that Veteran George Crawshaw had the arrangements of the musical programme and orchestra in hand, and the entering was in the hands of Messrs. F'indlay's. Limited. As already published, the Minister of Defence, the ]lon. F. Jones. had had to refuse an invitation Jo be prescjit, as his visit to the district had occurred a week earlier. The Hon. ft. Semple. Minister of Public Works, wrote in reply to_ an invitation to he present al the reunion: "I shall he ip Gisborne on May an. and if at all possible .shall he pleased to attend the annual reunion of your asso ciation for a short while. -..With many thanks for the kind invitation which you have extended lo jne. ■' .Lengthy correspondence was received from the Dominion executive, which, through the secretary, wrote that. Captain •). J. Hark'had beim appointed representative on the Soldiers' Civil Reestablishmcnl League. The date of I ho. annual conference in Wellington had been 'fixed for Wednesday, July 23. ami remits had to be in by dune 12. Nominations for the Dominion president must he in bv .Juw 19. and the names and addresses of delegates by duly 10 Affiliation fees and all accounts .should be natil before June 12. Periodicals received included the Poverty Lay Herald and X.Z.R.S.A. Review.
