The December increase was dictated by increases in i the price of motor spirit at the source land in the cost of ocean freights, j “The Department of Industries and ' Commerce undertook a careful investi- ! Ration into all these factors in price and has now agreed that prices may I he increased in the controlled areas to bring them into line with prices already established elsewhere since December 12. I Similar increases in -the price of motor | spirit have taken place in England and Australia and, in fact, throughout the . world.”
