Mr. I>. 0. Robertson retired yesterday from active association with the State Advances Corporation. Ho had completed an active life of 4fi years with public organisations, first as road overseer and engineer for locgl bodies in Taranaki, and then with the Government, roads department. He came to Gisborne 34 years ago as engineer to the Government Ponds Department, and was with the Lands and Survey Department as fields inspector for 28 years, until his appointment as farm appraiser for the State Advances Corporation seven months ago. From to-day, Mr. Robertson commences' three months’ leave of absence, prior to retiring on su£erannuation.
