FAREWELL DA.VC'K (Horald Correspondent.} To bid farewell to Mr. B. T. Holmes, who is leaving Tolajm Hay shortly to reside in Otorohangn. a. very jolly dance was held in the Parish Hall last, night. The dance was organised by members of the tennis and golf clubs, of which Mr. Holmes always has been a kern supporter.
The programme was played by Miss Phvllis Pay. and extras were contributed hy Miss Myrtle Holmes and Mr. Holmes. A Mottle. Carlo waltz was won by Miss .Toycb' Ma<-\am.<h'a and Mr. Archie L-ockwood. A dainty savoury supper was provided by (he ladies of I he clubs. During the supper interval, Mr. S. Thornton, on behalf of the clubs, preseated Mr. Holmes with a leather suitcase as a token of esteem from his many friends.
He said that Mr. TloTmes would be greatly missed in golf and tennis circles, ns well as in all matters connected with the social life of the township, and wished him the best of luck in his new position.
Mr. Holmes suitably expressed his thanks and was heartily applauded, all present joining in singing, "Fop He's a .lollv C'Ood Fellow."
A very happy es'ening was concluded l.y tho "singing" of "Auld Lang Syne'" ind tlie National Anthem. Among those present were Mesdames M. B. Holmes, A. .1. Sharpe, K. Colson, I). G.
