CONVERSION OF A CAR
MAORI SENTENCED 6 MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT Charged with unlawfully converting to his own use a car valued at £B9, the property of Wengawenga. Arapeta Morete, a native, appeared on Tuesday before justices of the peace in To Kaha. and, in view of his record, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment in the Auckland gaol.
Constable B. J'. Hira, native constable stationed at 'J'e Kaha, said that on Monday he received a complaint about the ccii" having been stolen from outside a meeting house al Paliaoa. He went with complainant and found the car had been wrecked by going over a bank near the meeting bouse. On Tuesday Morote was arrested and charged with the offence. He pleaded guilty.
