The' association had originally matched Gildo vcritli McKay, oa the latter's assurance that he could be ready to Ugh- in three weeks, but a few days later it was realised by .MeKav that he needed more gymnasium work than ho had time to get in be fore the date fixed for the tight. The association thereupon turned its attention to getting another opponent for CHldo, and Latta was found to be willing. Since tiie abandonment- of the Anzac Day eorernonies and also the plans for the* Coronation Day celebrations, the executive lias concluded that, it would be inviting criticism to proceed with its own arrangements, and the Gildo-Latta match will be held over until a convenient date later in May, when it is hoped that public health conditions will have improved.

In a professional boxing contest- tonight, Billy Aitken, 9.3.1 (Wellington), defeated Young CHldo,, 9.3 (a Filopino). on points over 12 rounds. It was a good contest, with Gildo loading over the latter half. Aitken's stronger punching probably wmi him the decision.
